After School and Saturday Engineering Program

  • Program starts 2:30pm to 6pm Mondays to Fridays
Registration

Welcome to our Engineering Afterschool Program at STEAMUP Academy. We offer an exciting and innovative approach to engineering education. Our program is designed for children aged 5 to 15 who have a passion for science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Through hands-on activities, group projects, and interactive experiments, our program provides a fun and engaging way for children to explore the world of engineering. Our state-of-the-art facilities include modern equipment, such as: 3D printers, laser cutter and robotics systems. In order to provide students with hands-on experience in designing and building.

Our experienced instructors are dedicated to fostering a love of learning and helping children develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. We offer a wide range of activities that are tailored to each child's age and skill level, so whether your child is a beginner or an advanced learner, there's something for everyone.

Join us today and watch your child's creativity and curiosity soar as they discover the exciting world of engineering!

Coding and Robotics

Coding is an essential set of instructions that a robot can read and execute. Robotics combines the use of electronics, mechanics, and coding software to program robots to do particular jobs.

Students design algorithms and then develop and test programs to control a range of robotic systems. Robots are mechanical or virtual artificial agents, typically guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry. Here students will learn how to design and code robots.

Architecture

Students will study the history of building design and its structure. They will be introduced to using Sketchup and a number of computer aided designs (CAD). Class covers the basic theories, strategies and concepts of form, shape, symmetry and patterns in the physical world and how to translate them onto paper. Students learn to combine design with aesthetics and weigh those considerations against time, quality, and cost.

2D and 3D Animation

There’s something magical about the art of traditional animation. It’s inspiring to see a rough drawing transform into a living, breathing character. The hands-on feeling of crafting motion, emotion, and believability from just a few drawings is a powerful experience.

2D animation can be an incredibly expressive dynamic form of entertainment and artistic creation. In 2D Animation for Beginners, we’ll explore the roots of traditional animation using modern, digital tools used within the studio environment today.

Introduction to Mechatronics

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field that combines several types of engineering; electrical, computer, and mechanical. Mechatronics is a skillset needed in advanced automated manufacturing industry. Students will learn how to create simpler and smarter systems due to being multi-faceted. Mechatronics is an essential foundation for the expected growth in automation and manufacturing.

Aesthetic Art

A major part of Engineering is the ability to be creative. Our program of Art trains the mind in creative designs. Students will learn how to manipulate the skills of an artist and tie that knowledge with engineering designs while designing to fit nature.

Internet of Things

IoT refers to the interconnectedness of everyday devices and appliances, allowing them to communicate with each other and with us. This technology is transforming the way we live and work, and has the potential to revolutionize entire industries. Our program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive overview of IoT, from its history and development to its current and future applications. We will explore the benefits and challenges of IoT, as well as the ethical and security issues that arise from this technology.

Our IoT program is the perfect place to learn more about this exciting and rapidly evolving field.

Industrial Design

Students will work with a range of materials (woods, metals and plastics) and on a range of small projects designed to develop their skills. They will then work on a Major Project using the material(s) of their choice. They will be required to design a product, recording their work in a portfolio.

This experience enables students to develop a whole range of creative designing and making skills, technical knowledge and product understanding; as well as transferable skills such as problem solving and time management.

Cyber Security (Beginner)

This program is designed to teach online safety and cyber security. In today's digital age, it's more important than ever to understand the risks and threats that come with using the internet.

Our experienced instructors will teach your child the fundamentals of cyber security, including how to protect their personal information, how to identify and avoid online scams, and how to stay safe while using social media and other online platforms.

We offer a range of fun and interactive activities that are designed to engage and inspire young learners. Our program provides a dynamic and engaging learning environment that will help your child develop the skills they need to stay safe online.
